Rolls Royce choose Coastal West Sussex Mind as charity of the year

We are delighted to announce that Rolls Royce at Goodwood have chosen Coastal West Sussex Mind to be their charity of the year.

Staff at the headquarters and manufacturing facility have already been busy fundraising for us and there are some exciting events planned for the rest of the year too.

To date, some of the activities in aid of CWSX Mind have included:

  • a group taking on the Rough Runner challenge
  • one employee, Rhys Glide, doing a two-day double marathon event, Race to the Tower
  • green-fingered staff having a biggest chilli growing competition
  • toy rabbits being made by the leather team.

Then on October 8, a group of runners will take part in the Chichester Half Marathon.

We plan to be at the Rolls Royce site for a day around World Mental Health Day on October 10 to raise awareness about mental health. We will also be taking part in their big family day in December, which is being put on to raise funds to support our work.

In the meantime, another group from Rolls Royce are taking on the Brecon Beacons Challenge this month. And another employee is busy planning a pub quiz.

CWSX Mind chief executive Katie Glover said: “A big thank you goes to Rolls Royce. We are really delighted they have chosen to support us and it’s great to see the obvious enthusiasm of the staff that are taking on physical challenges on our behalf.

“We are a local charity, relying on fundraising and donations to provide some of our services. This support from Rolls Royce means we can continue helping people with their mental health, raising awareness and tackling stigma.”
